Laura and Johnny met in a Chili’s parking lot when Laura told Johnny that she liked his car as he drove past. Johnny stopped and the rest is history. That was November 2006. They were 17 years old. On December 3, 2006, after they’d been dating for almost a month, Johnny asked Laura to be his girlfriend in the parking lot of CVS.

Since then they’ve have graduated high school, moved away, moved back and gotten their bachelor’s degrees. While growing up together, they have known for a long time that marriage was their goal.
Last year on July 19, Johnny proposed. Although Laura knew it was coming at some point that year, she was still shocked and surprised.
With the added benefit of eight years of experience in trying to surprise her, Johnny took the fact that Laura usually figures out her surprises and used it against her. He told her that he had planned a special date day. She suspected that he was going to propose, but she wasn’t sure.
That day they had massages in the morning, went to an art museum, and then headed to their friend Kim’s surprise party. That surprise party turned out to be the surprise proposal with some of their closest friends! Laura couldn’t believe it. It took her three days to calm down.
Johnny and Laura’s good friend Jessica hosted a tea party themed San Antonio wedding shower before they moved back to Houston. These friends are from their church in San Antonio and are essentially their family there. They helped them move, helped Laura do things when Johnny moved first, and their Christ-like friendship has truly changed Johnny and Laura as a couple and individuals.
Then serious wedding planning began and only one day made sense. December 3. Laura and Johnny will get married on their ten year anniversary of officially becoming a couple. This day has been important to them both for so many years, they didn’t want to change their anniversary.
Although Laura and Johnny have been partners, road homies, and best friends for a while now, they are so excited finally to be getting married. They’re looking forward to the best anniversary they’ve have had so far and sharing it with y’all.
